Eugenia Kim launches new diffusion line Genie online
Eugenia Kim, the NYC-based accessories brand best known for its statement headwear, has announced the official online launch of its diffusion line, Genie by Eugenia Kim.
The line’s debut Spring/Summer 2019 collection features simpler takes on Eugenia Kim classics such as straw hats, newsboy caps and headwraps. This season’s main patterns are leopard, snakeskin and denim.
“The Genie girl is young at heart, effortless but practical in her style, and is aware of trends but not chasing them,” explained the brand in a release.
Prices for pieces from the launch collection range from $38 for a Penny headwrap to $128 for a wide-brimmed Lexie natural straw boater, featuring a leopard-print charmeuse and a black and white polka dot chiffon.
Initially founded as a millenary collection by its eponymous designer, Eugenia Kim has since expanded into a range of other accessories categories, having first launched a footwear line in 2004 before rebooting it in 2014.
The label celebrated its 20th anniversary last year with a retrospective capsule collection which has since been acquired exclusively by Barneys. 2018 also saw the brand offer its first customization service, allowing shoppers to decorate one of its signature straw hats with a message of their choosing.
Eugenia Kim’s products are sold by luxury retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harvey Nichols, as well as by more than 300 specialty boutiques around the world.
Select pieces from the Genie by Eugenia Kim line are now available to purchase on the Eugenia Kim e-commerce platform. Fans can also follow the line on the newly launched Genie by Eugenia Kim Instagram account.
