Feathery locks at Alexis Mabille runway show: the next trend in hairstyles?

Odile from Parisian Hair & Make-up Agency Atelier 68 created the crowning glory behind the French designer's glamorous Spring Haute Couture collection. If you thought hair extensions were a thing of the past...think again!

Could Alexis Mabille be on the brink of starting a new hair color trend? After dip dye and blue and pink streaked hair, these colorful feather extensions -- hot off the runway -- provide a playful alternative to harsh color, and they eliminate the regrowth waiting game.

So what's the score? This whole-head, party look was achieved by applying ultra fine actual, individual feathers -- yes you read this correctly -- to the models' hair. A subtler style can be created by simply using less feather extensions.

The great news is that unlike most extensions, which end in a capillary catastrophe, these are installed with a micro-line silicone bead that ensures no damage to the hair.

They can be worn for up to six weeks at a time.

According to the experts, "featherheads" can wash, blow dry and curl or straighten hair as before.
