Filippo Ferrua Magliani appointed president of Italian textile group Miroglio
Italian textile and apparel group Miroglio continues to work on a new corporate governance structure. On November 21, the group announced the appointment of a new president, Filippo Ferrua Magliani, a proven business leader who will contribute to Miroglio’s transformation into an industrial holding company.
Ferrua Magliani takes over from Giuseppe Miroglio, a member of the family’s fourth generation, currently President of Miroglio SpA and of its two subsidiaries, Miroglio Textile and M2Log.
Ferrua Magliani was born in Cuneo in 1946 and has a degree in Jurisprudence from the University of Padua. He is a qualified lawyer. He has been a member of the board of directors for major Italian industrial groups like Ferrero and Eurofidi.
The new appointment is a crucial step for Miroglio, whose goal is to “allocate the group's resources, select key executives to be put in charge of [the group’s] operational subsidiaries and ensure the supervision over strategy implementation and over the managerial and operational decisions made by the same companies,” as the group wrote in a press release.
The Piedmont-based group is going through a very lively phase, which led to the creation of new executive roles, such as that of group director for strategy and transformation, recently attributed to Alberto Racca.
The group was founded in Alba, Italy, in 1947, and is active in the textile/apparel industry through three distinct companies: Miroglio Fashion, which runs 12 fashion retail chains (among them Motivi, Elena Mirò and Fiorella Rubino), Miroglio Textile, the group’s textile division, and M2Log, which takes care of the group’s sourcing and logistics operations.
