The store, part of a chain that sells cosmetics, fragrances and other beauty products which is owned by Paris-based luxury products group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH.PA), was not open at the time and will not open on Friday 18 December, a spokeswoman for Sephora said.
The rest of the mall was open, a spokesman said.
There were no injuries in the morning blaze, which was caused by an electrical problem, the Sephora spokeswoman said.
Stores above the nearly 5,000-square-foot (465 sq metres) Sephora outlet may have received some smoke damage, a fire department spokesman said.
The North Bridge mall is owned by the real estate investment trust Macerich and is among the busiest along Chicago's Magnificent Mile shopping district, especially a week before Christmas.
