Property developer Landsec has announced the signing of several store openings and upsizes at its Bluewater shopping centre, including Levi’s first women-specific store in the UK.

Showcasing only its women’s ranges, the 1,900-square-foot Levi’s Women store will be the second of its kind globally, joining an existing site in Nice, France.

The signing is a major win for the shopping mall, which has also recently opened a 450-square-foot unit for high-end perfume house Penhaligon’s and a 300-square-foot store for Happy Socks.

Existing retailers are also increasing their space at Bluewater, with JD Sports doubling its size from 9,500 square feet to 19,000 square feet. Jewellery brand Beaverbrooks has expanded the size of its store to 2,500 square feet to incorporate a Tag Heuer showroom and Chisholm Hunter opened an expanded 2,000-square-foot store at the end of November.

Robert Hardie, portfolio director at Landsec, commented: “The scale and diversity of recent high-quality lettings at Bluewater is testament to the quality of the existing offer at the scheme and to Landsec’s ability and skill in driving a relevant consumer base through brands’ doors.”

The Kent shopping centre opened in 1999 and is considered one of the leading retail and leisure destinations in Europe. AllSaints, Hawes & Curtis, Jack Wills, Jigsaw and LK Bennett have also stores there.
