Former Safilo chief executive officer Roberto Vedovotto has joined the ranks at Kering to pilot the French group’s eyewear business, effective immediately. During his five year stint at Safilo, Vedovotto played an integral role in the rival of the company, which now stands as the world’s second largest eyewear group.
Vedovotto’s role at Kering will be to head up and review the group’s eyewear strategy across the group’s brands, ranging from Balenciaga and Saint Laurent to Puma and Volcom. The Italian left Safilo in October and was replaced by former Procter & Gamble executive Luisa Delgado.
