Online menswear brand Frank & Oak has opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the US on Boston’s Newbury Street. The Montreal-based company saw success with six locations across Canada and then chose Boston as its first US city through its Collective Impact campaign.
The Boston pop-up, or "seed store" as the brand is calling it, will be open for 12 to 18 months and serve as a model for future US stores. The location has a lounge in the rear of the store and will host events for members each month.
CEO Ethan Song told BostInno via email, "We launched this campaign as a means of taking our customers' voices into consideration as well as a way to empower Frank & Oak to extend globally while remaining true to our local, community-based roots. We’re excited to bring Frank & Oak to Boston, a city rich in fashion, tech, and creative history."
Song explained that the company wanted to get a storefront in the city as soon as possible, with an and aim to keep the store permanently.
Frank & Oak is a members-based menswear brand that offers 12 original collections each year. The company currently has two stores in Montreal, its home city, and Toronto, and pop-up locations in Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, and Halifax.
