Building on its commitment to become a more sustainable brand, Montreal-based retailer Frank and Oak is gearing up to launch a new sustainable outerwear collection for men and women on October 4.

The collection will include eight outerwear designs tailored for both men and women including The Capital Waterproof Hooded Parka, The Alpine Fishtail Parka, The Metro Mid Parka, The Explorer Winter Puffer Jacket and The Hygge Oversized Cocoon Coat.

Items were made of recycled fabrics that are better for the environment such as 3M featherless recycled insulation and recycled polyester fiberproof ripstop fabric.

Earlier this year, Frank and Oak co-founder Ethan Song stated his commitment to becoming a more sustainable brand by having the majority of their products made with eco-friendly methods.

It launched the Minimal collection on April 1, which was created with eco-friendly methods in an effort to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

Most recently, it also launched a new denim collection with more sustainable pieces.

“Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world and we believe that we need to do our part one product at a time. Innovation has always been part of Frank And Oak’s culture and this year, we challenged ourselves to create more sustainable outerwear that will not compromise on performance or style. I'm glad to say that our mission is accomplished,” said Ethan Song, co-founder and CEO of Frank and Oak, in a news statement.

Founded in 2012, Frank and Oak launched as an e-commerce-only brand for men.

The company has since expanded into brick-and-mortar, as well as into womenswear with the launch of its first women’s collection in fall 2016. The company operates over 20 stores across Canada.
