Ganni names ex-Dazed Media MD as its first brand chief
Ganni on Friday announced an important new appointment with Priya Matadeen set to join the premium label as Chief Brand Officer.
The Copenhagen-based label said it’s “cementing its global growth” with this new senior hire that’s the first time it has had a brand chief.
She arrives on 4 January and “will take on the leadership of all brand and communications-led departments, further driving the development of Ganni’s global brand strategy”.
It’s an interesting appointment as she doesn’t come directly from the fashion sector but joins after a previous role as Managing Director at Dazed Media, having worked closely with Jefferson Hack.
The company said she has “an immense amount of experience counting 18+ years of specialising in fashion, culture, marketing and creative processes. Her CV includes an impressive list of agencies and media titles”.
As well as Dazed, that list takes in Vogue, Vice/Virtue, and Wieden+Kennedy, "working closely with clients like Gucci, Versace, Chanel and Nike”.
She’ll be based in Ganni’s London office, “while working closely with the global teams including Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup”.
