Ganni is continuing its retail expansion and on Thursday opened its first flagship store in Germany with a Berlin debut.

The company said the city is “known for its diversity and welcoming vibe, [and] has a beating cultural heart that makes it the perfect match for Ganni”. Creative director Ditte Reffstrup added that the label has a “super loyal community” in the country.

The new store is in one of the city’s key retail areas — on Rochstrasse — and “takes inspiration from the family home of Ganni founders, husband-and-wife duo Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup”.

It contains an eclectic mix of retro vases, vintage furniture and a selection of art by all-female talents. Eco concerns are also to the fore with recycled plastic waste podiums, interior trays made from pressed old fabrics, and upcycled Artek stools made from repurposed Ganni fabrics.

The store will offer both virtual and physical 1-2-1 complimentary personal shopping appointments “inviting customers to hang out and to get to know the team”.

Along with the opening, the brand is launching a number of “fun partnerships”. Exclusively for the Berlin store, it has commissioned local artist Isis-Maria Niedecken to create an artwork that will live permanently in the store.

Local ceramicist Sisi Tonia has also created a limited edition of espresso cup ceramics in partnership with the label that the first customers to spend over €300 will receive.

There are also 40 one-of-a-kind limited edition reworked Berlin Smiley T-shirts being sold exclusively there.

And the company has partnered with Frederik Bille Brahe’s Berlin-based Sofi Bakery for fresh pastries and cheese buns to be available throughout the opening weekend.
