Gap opens flagship store in Shanghai

The international apparel retailer Gap has opened a new flagship store in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai.

Yang Deming, president for Gap Greater China, told local media that following the opening of two flagship stores in Shanghai's Puxi commercial area, they are glad to expand their business into the Pudong New Area to provide more customers with the fashion shopping experience and latest products. Members of every family can find products of their style in Gap stores.

Located on the first floor of Kerry Parkside, the new Gap flagship store covers an area of 1,250 square meters and it provides apparel like jeans as well as accessories. It also offers Gap's full line products like GapKids, babyGap and GapBody series.

The Gap, Inc. is an American clothing and accessories retailer based in San Francisco, California, and founded in 1969 by Donald G. Fisher and Doris F. Fisher. The company has five primary brands, including Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta. In 2010, its net profit reached USD14.7 billion. At present, it has over 3,100 stores and 180 distributors in more than 90 countries and regions.
