Germany’s Tom Tailor appoints Heiko Schäfer as CCO
The management board at Tom Tailor is finally complete: the nomination of the 42-year-old executive completes the realignment of the board. Heiko Schäfer will take over the new role of Chief Operating Officer in December.
“We are delighted to have recruited Dr Heiko Schäfer, an internationally experienced manager with extensive and profound technical industry expertise.
He is a perfect fit for our company and will bring the Group forward successfully with his experience and knowledge in the implementation of efficient processes," said Uwe Schröder, chairman of the supervisory board of the German retailer.
Heiko Schäfer comes from the private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) in London and, as Tom Tailor’s new CCO, he will take on a crucial role in the implementation of the further verticalization. The executive will be responsible for the areas of purchasing, logistics and IT, as well as project and process management.
Schäfer, who studied Business at the University of Saarbrücken and subsequently earned doctorate degree at the University of Mannheim, has many years of experience in the fashion industry.
The new CCO of Tom Tailor also worked for six years at senior management level for the Adidas Group, where he was responsible most recently as Senior Vice President of product development, sourcing and logistics for the four lifestyle/fashion brands of the umbrella brand Adidas. There, he was also responsible for numerous transformational projects, amongst others to accelerate product development, optimize product costs and the technical infrastructure.
