Givaudan is betting on innovation and sensory experience. The Swiss company, the world leader in flavors and fragrances, has just invested in Sensorwake, the inventor of the olfactory alarm clock. This French start-up is specialized in products that use scents to improve people’s well-being and is the winner of the CES Innovation Award in 2016 and 2017 in Las Vegas for its design and product engineering in consumer technology.

While Givaudan did not specify the amount of its investment, this move is part of an on-going partnership with Sensorwake. The two companies have already collaborated on a collection of scents for the Sensorwake alarm clock. More recently, they worked together on a second product called Oria, which uses scents to help the user get a restful sleep.

In its first quarter, Givaudan recorded an increase in sales of 7.7% to 1.24 billion Swiss francs (1.16 billion euros)
