Nivea, the mass-market personal care brand owned by German group Beiersdorf, has appointed Grita Loebsack as its new global president, starting January 1 2022. “I am convinced that Grita Loebsack will enhance the reputation of Nivea and make it an even more international, digital and eco-friendly brand, inspiring our customers around the world,” said Vincent Warnery, chairman of Beiersdorf’s executive board, who replaced Belgian manager Stefan de Loecker in April.

Loebsack is currently marketing director of Essilor, part of the EssilorLuxottica group, and started her professional career in the cosmetics industry. In 1996, she joined L'Oréal, where she held various marketing and senior management positions over the course of 16 years, notably as marketing director for international skincare at L'Oréal Paris, and as managing director of Vichy. In 2012, she joined Anglo-Dutch giant Unilever as executive vice-president in charge of the skincare category worldwide.

In 2015, Loebsack switched industries and joined the Kering group as CEO of the luxury, couture and leather goods division. She will also join Beiersdorf’s supervisory board.

In the first nine months of the 2021 fiscal year, Beiersdorf recorded a revenue of €5.8 billion, up 12% compared to the same period last year.
