Gucci is continuing to diversify its luxury product offerings. After launching a fine jewellery line in 2019, the Kering group’s flagship brand is entering the luxury watch-making segment with a collection conceptualised by creative director Alessandro Michele and manufactured in Switzerland.

Gucci, which is celebrating its centenary this year, first ventured into the field of watch-making in 1972, harnessing the expertise of Swiss watch-makers from the outset. The brand set up its headquarters dedicated to watch-making in the Swiss region of Neuchâtel and its factory specialising in the fabrication of dials in the region of Ticino, while its quality control, assembly, and diamond setting operations are based in Chaux-de-Fonds.

The brand’s new luxury watch collection is made up of four lines: Gucci 25H, which introduces the ultra-thin model; G-Timeless; Grip; and its fine jewellery watch line. “Each is inspired by Gucci’s handcrafted heritage and its iconic emblems, such as flora and fauna, talismans, and the famous GG logo,” said the brand in a statement. These design elements are all dear to creative director Alessandro Michele.

The most luxurious models from the collection will be priced up to €250,000 ($297,040) and the most accessibly priced start at €8,500. The collection will be viewable by appointment at Gucci’s boutique dedicated to jewellery at the Place Vendôme in Paris.
