Gucci unveils Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Beverly Hills

Gucci's first love is fashion, but its second -- in classic Italian fashion -- is food, a passion that has taken root in the U.S. with the Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura Beverly Hills.

Set to open to the public on February 17, the new Osteria is located on the roof of Gucci's Los Angeles store and is led by Michelin-star Chef Massimo Bottura, the chef patron of Osteria Francescana. A childhood friend of Gucci's CEO, Marco Bizzarri, Bottura and Gucci first collaborated in 2018 with the Gucci Osteria at the Gucci Garden in Florence, and the new Beverly Hills restaurant marks a first for both partners in the U.S.

A cozy space accommodating around 50 guests for lunch and dinner services, the Los Angeles location plays into Gucci's Italian heritage and creative director, Alessandro Michele's fascination with Hollywood -- an infatuation that has been demonstrated in capsule collections with Chateau Marmont and Paramount Studios and the relaunch of the Gucci Guilty fragrance at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, among other projects.

Described as "deeply Italian", the menu includes signature dishes like chef Massimo's tortellini with parmigiano-reggiano cream and the 'Emilia' burger, as well as new California-inspired dishes.

The restaurant’s design includes details that pay homage to the Gucci Osteria in Florence -- Gucci Décor wallpaper, antique mirrors, red marble dining tables and wicker dining chairs -- as well as elements unique to the L.A. location, including herringbone wood flooring and cherry red velvet banquettes. The restaurant also features an outdoor terrace complete with Italian marble mosaic floors and an antique wooden pulpit that acts as the restaurant's outdoor bar.

In celebration of the upcoming opening, the Osteria held a private event on February 10 attended by swathes of celebrities, including Tyler, the Creator, Salma Hayek Pinault, Anderson Paak, Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Johnson, Dita von Teese and Dev Hynes.

Outside of the Beverly Hills store and restaurant, Gucci's relationship with Los Angeles also includes the annual LACMA Art+Film Gala, which is co-chaired by Alessandro Michele.
