Harvey Nichols has announced that Daniela Rinaldi, co-chief operating officer, is leaving the high-end retail group after 35 years to pursue new challenges.

She took over alongside Manju Malhotra in 2017, replacing Stacey Cartwright. Over the past two years, they focused on giving Harvey Nichols a new position as a luxury boutique with edited collections from established and emerging designers.

Malhotra will continue to be chief operating officer, working closely with executive director Pearson Poon and the rest of the management board to ensure the group continues to prosper.

Harvey Nichols said Daniela Rinaldi enjoyed many successful launches in beauty and fashion during her 35-year-long career with the luxury company. She will take a short break with her family before considering her next challenge in the luxury sector.

She said: “I have been lucky enough to spend my career in a fantastic organisation, where I have made lifelong friends and leave with tremendous pride in the brands, partners and businesses that I have supported and helped to create.”

Harvey Nichols chairman Dickson Poon added: “I would like to thank Daniela for her loyalty and dedication and wish her all the best as she takes a deserved break with her family before moving on to her next career step.”

Hong Kong tycoon Poon has owned the business, which has eight stores in the UK and Ireland, since 1991. The business also has six licensed international outlets.
