Hermès is making its first foray into the world of make-up, launching a lipstick collection that will be available from March 4 at selected Hermès stores and other specialist retailers in 35 countries. The collection will feature a palette of 24 shades, priced at a very high €62 per lipstick, inspired by the colours of silk and leather craftsmanship and available in both a matte and shiny finish. In addition, Hermès is also introducing three limited-edition foundations, whose palette will be updated every six months.

The lipsticks, whose refills are priced at €38, come in a variety of holders, in lacquered, brushed and polished metal, in black, white and golden brass colour, mirroring the metal elements in Hermès leather products.

The lipsticks are packaged in a miniature orange box, another signature Hermès trait.

Besides the lipsticks, the Hermès make-up line features a soothing lip balm, a lip gloss, a lip pencil, a lip brush in lacquered wood, as well as a range of leather accessories.

Hermès, founded in Paris in 1837, will introduce new items in its beauty collection on a six-monthly basis from September, in order to “create a complete make-up line.”
