Hilco is advising on Ralph & Russo sale
Following news of the administration filing of struggling luxury label Ralph & Russo, it seems that Hilco has been taken on to help market the British label.
The company is drawing up a list of prospective buyers for the brand that was distinguished for being the first UK label in nearly 100 years to officially join the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.
The RTW-to-couture company had been riding high just a few years ago, with a celebrity client list that included Hollywood A-listers and royalty. But there had been rumours for months that it was in serious trouble with the number of customers prepared to pay tens of thousands of pounds for a dress dwindling during the pandemic. Restrictions on lavish weddings and red carpet events were devastating for the business.
Before its problems began, the company had attracted a number of investors that pumped millions into it and saw huge potential for its growth globally.
And that potential in more normal times is likely to attract new investors, Hilco believes, with private equity companies and fashion groups expected to show an interest.
