The new app, now available for download, includes features that are relevant to both online and in-store shoppers.

While in-store, shoppers can use the app to scan product barcodes in order to search for additional styles and sizes, as well as detailed product descriptions. What’s more, purchases can be made while in store and will offer customers fast, free delivery to their home.

Likewise, app users can also shop by sale, browse by brand and search by any product name to find what they’re looking for faster.

"At Hudson's Bay, the customer is at the heart of everything we do and their input drove many of the developments of our new app," said Adam Powell, VP eCommerce, Hudson's Bay, in a news statement.

"With mobile now exceeding desktop shoppers on thebay.com, the new app is fast, effective, and adds value, ultimately evolving our digital experience. In developing, we honed in on what would help make the Hudson's Bay shopping experience easier and more engaging, from start to finish, both online and in stores."

Like many other retailers, the HBC family of brands including Hudson’s Bay and Saks Off Fifth have been negatively affected by the online shift leaving them no choice, but to amp up their digital strategy.

The Hudson's Bay currently operates 89 full-line locations and its e-commerce business thebay.com.
