Hyve Group — owner of tradeshows including Pure London, Moda and Scoop — is losing its Divisional Managing Director of retail, engineering and manufacturing as Julie Driscoll prepares to take up the new role of CEO at key events venue Olympia London.

Julie Driscoll - Hyve Group

Driscoll joined Hyve in 2018 as UK Regional Director and has been a driver behind the development of many of its events since then. She also helped it through the most challenging period when UK events were cancelled across multiple seasons from March 2020 due to the pandemic.

Before joining Hyve, she was with publisher, industry intelligence and events business Ascential in various positions, including portfolio director, commercial director and brand director.

In her new role, she’ll be in charge of the venue where Pure happens twice a year, the event having returned to Olympia post-pandemic last season.

Its current MD, Nigel Nathan, will remain in a consultancy role for three months to facilitate a smooth leadership transition.

Driscoll is currently also Chair of the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) and board member of the Events Industry Alliance, but she’ll step down from the AEO role as she takes up her new post.
