The loss of its license for Burberry already seems long ago. Interparfums has now signed an eleven-year global license agreement to develop a line of fragrances for the New York leather goods company Coach, both companies announced on Thursday.

The first fragrance issuing from the partnership will be launched in fall 2016, according to a joint statement from Interparfums and Coach.

The fragrances will be distributed in department stores, perfumeries, duty-free stores and in Coach’s own stores.

Coach is already involved in fragrances with lines such as "Signature" and "Poppy". By partnering with Interparfums, however, it intends to open itself up "to a wider audience," said the French company’s CEO, Philippe Benacin

Interparfums hasn’t given any sales targets, but it seems to have high hopes, since the launch of Coach fragrances will be preceded by a "major integrated marketing and communications campaign," according to the company.

Although it has developed its business through its own brands, with Lanvin and soon Rochas, Interparfums primarily develops fragrances under license for big names in the world of luxury, including Montblanc, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Paul Smith and Balmain.
