Italian group Oberalp, based in Bolzano in northern Italy, inked a deal for the distribution of Swedish outdoor apparel brand 2117 of Sweden at the beginning of the year. The agreement covers 13 countries: Italy, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Spain, Andorra and France.

The deal was agreed on early last summer, but was kept confidential until all of its terms were finalised. The negotiations were led for Oberalp by CEO Christoph Engl, by Stefano Bovolon, the group’s head of commercial distribution, and Axel Brosch, general manager Central Europe for Oberalp.

2117 of Sweden was founded in 2003 and is now part of the brand portfolio of Wänerstedt AB, a Swedish family company that has been active in the apparel sector for generations. 2117 of Sweden is currently present in 18 countries on four continents.

Oberalp, founded in 1981 in Bolzano, develops and produces outdoor and mountain sports apparel and equipment for its proprietary brands Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca, Wild Country, Evolv and LaMunt, and is also a distribution partner for sportswear brands like Speedo, Under Armour, Fischer, Smith, X-Bionic and X-Socks, Barts, Falke and Burlington
