Jaeger MD Fiona Lambert is to leave the business after an almost-two-year stint at the now-M&S-owned label. Lambert has overseen its relaunch and revival since the brand was bought out of administration by retail giant M&S as the start of 2021.

M&S/Jaeger

The former George at Asda boss, was new business development MD at River island before she joined the M&S set-up. Since its purchase, Jaeger has been relaunched and integrated into the retailer’s operations.

Following a reshuffle, Jaeger will now be headed by Suzi Avens who joined this spring as head of product at the label. She had previously been womenswear director at Boden and product director at Cath Kidston.

M&S MD Richard Price said the company is accelerating its growth plans and that Avens has been “instrumental” in driving the Jaeger product proposition forward. He also said she’ll do “a brilliant job of upholding the integrity and independence of the Jaeger brand while overseeing its next phase of growth in the UK and overseas as we move out of its ‘start-up’ phase”.

In that start-up phase, the brand has updated its design signature while also playing up its heritage. This has included the reintroduction of its classic trench coat and its launch into denim, for instance.
