Five months after issuing a recall on the possible contamination of organic baby powder, Jessica Alba's all-natural beauty venture The Honest Company is recalling various lots of wipes due to the likely presence of mold.

Jessica Alba's Honest company issues another recall - The Honest Company

Christopher Gavigan, Co-Founder and Chief Purpose Officer for the company, made an almost three-minute video apology on the company’s website, stating “Honesty and transparency are the foundation of the Honest Company, and if we can’t live up to the expectations we’ve set, we’re committed to letting you know.” Holding what appears to be a contaminated wipe, Gavigan goes on to explain that routine testing identified certain lots of wipes that were not meeting company standards and that mold may have been present in certain lots of wipes sold in packages, as well as specialty items like diaper cakes and gift sets.

While Gavigan claims the company does not believe the wipes could cause any adverse health consequences, he does admit the aesthetics are unacceptable. To remedy the situation and ensure it does not happen again in the future, The Honest Company says it has plans to improve its quality control process. It also says it has improved cleaning procedures for all manufacturing lots, has new sampling requirements for all raw materials and has enhanced inspections and testing of the finished products.

Consumers are invited to visit the Honest Company website to check if they have an affected lot and receive a full refund. No other products are impacted by this recall.
