Published

Ever since John Richmond decided to distance himself from Italian entrepreneur Saverio Moschillo, producer and distributor of John Richmond apparel since 1996, relations have been tense between the two parties.

While the British designer took back control of his ready-to-wear label at the end of 2015 - in partnership with Fashioneast (the group made up of several investors in Luxembourg), Saverio Moschillo has continued to use the name Richmond, launching collections in Milan and even opening up the Richmond Café.

In the meantime, the British designer has launched judicial proceedings. In a statement, Richmond said that "the Milan court has prohibited M. Saverio Moschillo and subsidiaries Gioia Milano S.r.l., Moschillo S.r.l. and Biver S.r.l. from using any brand name, trademark or domain including the names John Richmond or Richmond in connection with a product or service across the whole European Union territory".

The order was given June 20 with immediate effect. The brand added that "in the case of any violation of this court order, further steps will be taken under criminal law and/or the seizure of counterfeit goods".
