Joules in discussions with Rothschild

Published
Nov 21, 2012

Tom Joule, founder and main shareholder of Joules, has said to have held talks with investment firm Rothschild with a view to sell a stake in the company.

Selling a minority stake to Rothschild would help fund the company’s international expansion. The brand, which is known for the equestrian style clothing, is looking to development in the UK as well as abroad. Previous talks were said to have taken place in 2011, but nothing came from them.

The past 12 months have seen Joules’ sales grow by 9% to nearly 67 million pounds. The brand has 54 stores in the UK and several in France and Sweden. Joules is also available at 350 multi-brand stores across Europe.
