Joules unveils Christmas campaign and Woodland trust partnership

Joules has released its Christmas campaign with an animation called A Woodland Tale. It links to the brand’s new partnership with the Woodland Trust and comes with its Woodland Edit, a curated collection of products from the company and its Friends of Joules partners.

The firm is planting a tree with every purchase and the partnership reflects a strong focus on doing good that can be seen with many Christmas campaigns this year.

Last year, Joules focused more on entertainment with a campaign featuring popular animated characters Wallace and Gromit. But the pandemic has shifted priorities and the new campaign is in line with that.

Meanwhile, the Edit features products “perfect for gifting”, including Joules’ ‘Cracking Christmas Jumper’ and supports the company’s pledge to plant 250,000 trees by 2022, as well as the Woodland Trust’s campaign to plant 50m trees by 2025. This would be a fifth of what the UK Government’s Committee for Climate Change says is needed to meet the country’s 2050 net zero carbon emission target.

The animation itself is a "heart-warming video" that raises awareness of the Woodland Trust, “the need to give back to nature and to protect the endangered species who make an appearance in it, including the red squirrel, pine marten, capercaillie and dormouse”.

CEO Nick Jones said: “The past challenging months have led all of us to enjoy the great outdoors more than ever. At Joules we feel passionately about protecting it for generations to come.”
