Kate Spade & Company last Thursday announced its partnership with Exclusive Brands International S.A. (EBI), a leading retailer and distributor in Latin America and the Caribbean, to expand the Kate Spade New York brand presence in Latin America.

As per the agreement, EBI will hold the distribution rights to Kate Spade New York in 17 territories in the Caribbean and Central and South America. EBI will distribute Kate Spade New York products to territories where it does not have retail, wholesale or e-commerce presence.

Craig A. Leavitt, Chief Executive Officer of Kate Spade & Company, said: "Our partnership with EBI is important as we establish a strong foundation for the kate spade new york brand across Latin America, helping us build scale and accelerate growth in that region.

Kate Spade & Company will no longer operate directly in Brazil and will evaluate with EBI. Despite the new partnership, the company will continue its agreement with Grupo Axo in Mexico, where they currently have four stores and two points of distribution.
