‘Women in Motion’ is expanding and gaining in visibility. The project was launched in 2015 by Kering in partnership with the Cannes Film Festival, to celebrate women's talent in cinema and their contribution to the film world, and will return to the French resort during the festival, from 17th to 28th May. But ‘Women in Motion’ will play a part beyond Cannes, featuring at other cinema events outside France in the course of the year, in partnership with UniFrance.

The luxury goods group has in fact announced in a press release a two-year partnership with the body, headed by Isabelle Giordano, which is active in promoting French cinema worldwide. The objective is to "broaden the scope of ‘Women in Motion’, by making it a presence at various international film events throughout the year."

‘Women in Motion’ will be featured at the French Film Festival in Japan, scheduled in Tokyo from 22nd to 25th June and organised by UniFrance. It is not the first time that ‘Women in Motion’ makes a foray outside home borders. In 2016, it associated with the Sundance Institute to support the `Women at Sundance Fellowship Program’, a mentoring programme for six female directors and producers, who were supported by Kering through a series of coaching sessions.

A ‘Women in Motion’ conference will also be held on 13th May as part of the Elle Active forum in Shanghai, in partnership with Elle China, and another is scheduled for 17th June in Hikarie (Japan) within the `Women in Society’ event organised by Elle Japan.
