New information has surfaced about Kim Jones’ upcoming Dior Men show. The LVMH group’s flagship brand shared more details about the event scheduled to be held on May 19 in Los Angeles. The fashion show will be staged on Venice Beach at 8 p.m. (local time) and will present the Spring 2023 men’s collection, as well as a capsule dubbed ‘California Couture’ created in collaboration with Eli Russell Linnetz.

The capsule collection is an ode to the Californian way of life, combining sportswear, couture, skateboarding culture, and the maximalist aesthetic of the 90s. The color palette, ranging from pastel shades to brighter colors, was inspired by the landscapes and sunsets of Los Angeles, as stated by the fashion house.

Judging by some of Kim Jones' recent Instagram posts, the collection is expected to reference a trip Christian Dior took to Los Angeles on April 14, 1957.

The event will be available to watch in a fully immersive format for the first time. The fashion show will be broadcast live on Horizon Venues, a digital experience platform that allows users to participate in exclusive events through a Meta Quest virtual reality headset and the Horizon Venues application from Meta (formerly known as Facebook).

The audience will find themselves "immersed in a digital amphitheater, similar to a futuristic movie theater, next to other avatars", as if they were attending the show in real life. The fashion show will also be streamed via Facebook Live on Dior’s Facebook page and will then be visible in 360-degree replay on the Oculus TV app.
