Specialist fashion retailer Long Tall Sally is continuing its expansion under its new owners with the launch of a dedicated Irish website and a pop-up store in Dublin. The Irish debut comes ahead of next month’s planned unveiling of a dedicated website for the Netherlands.

The company said it has a database of 8,000 Irish customers and felt that the time was right to expand there. The new website will mean that delivery will now take two or three days compared to three-to-10 days previously and there will also be a local returns facility and a free customer care telephone number.

The retailer, which targets women over 5ft 8ins with shoe sizes seven to 13, will be promoting the Irish launch with a Dublin pop-up store in the Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown in Cruiserath. It will be open on March 31 and April 1.

Long Tall Sally is the leading specialist fashion retailer for tall women globally and currently has 26 stores in North America, the UK and Germany, as well as its websites. Around 70% of its sales are sourced online.

It was acquired by Germany’s TriStyle Mode last August and since then has launched several major initiatives.

Last autumn it unveiled its first ever in-house label with the debut of the contemporary Curatd by Long Tall Sally line, targeting a younger (25-35) customer with a catwalk-inspired offer.

And earlier this month it said it is entering the athleisure category with the Taller and Stronger collection and fitness destination that offers both performance clothing and gym-to-street pieces.

Specialist fashion is a key growth area for retailers in the brand’s domestic UK market with collections covering plus size, tall and petite having been launched by a number of big names. Major retailers have also been debuting in other specialist areas such as fitness clothing and bridal.
