Created in Vuitton’s historic plant in Asnières, the trunk illustrates the traditional savoir-faire of the luxury  brand, inspired by the sporty codes of Formula One. For the 78th edition of the glamorous Grand Prix de Monaco, the new Louis Vuitton trunk will contain the trophy given to the race winner.

“Fangio, Hill, Moss, Stewart, Senna, Prost, Schumacher or more recently Alonso, Vettel, Rosberg, Ricciardo or Hamilton, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco has celebrated the greatest champions. At nearly 300 km per hour between the rails, it's the Grand Prix Formula 1 that all pilots want to win one day. Today we are proud to be associated with it and to write future histories together," said Michael Burke, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

“Victory travels with Louis Vuitton. Our Trophée trunk will be the witness of the next victories and will transport this legend!” added Burke.

In honor of Monaco’s flag and the official circuit, where drivers compete in the tightest track in Formula One, the trunk is designed with a red monogram, embellished by a red and white 'V for Victory' detailing, and a map of the track.

The May 23 race marks the first get-together to combine the luxe of French brand Vuitton and the professionalism of race organizers, the Automobile Club de Monaco, to transmit their values of excellency and tradition.

Louis Vuitton is no stranger to major sporting events. Vuitton also created the trunks for the past three World Cups;  South Africa in 2010, won by Spain; Brazil in 2014, won by Germany in Rio, and Russia in 2018, won by France.
