Mango has confirmed that Barcelona will serve as a testing ground for its new strategy. The Catalan retailer has just opened a new menswear flagship that fits in with the segment’s recent rebranding. As of a few weeks ago, what was once H.E. by Mango will now be known as Mango Man.

Primarily distributed in corners housed in Mango’s larger locations, Mango Man is currently available in 240 stores. But there are only a few solely dedicated to menswear in Europe. One more has now been added to the list with the opening of Mango Man’s new flagship on Paseo de Gracia.

A thoroughfare that now includes four Mango store—a classic store, a newer megastore, a Mango Kids store and now, with the opening this month, a store dedicated to menswear, which is the company’s 37th overall in the Catalan capital.

At 6,500 square feet, the Mango Man location on Paseo de Gracia is by far the largest in the world. The store features the entire collection, segmented into multiple lines: casual, trend, tailored, smart, denim and finally training and running for the sports section.

In 2015, Mango intends to accelerate the openings of corners using the new name, while better integrating Mango Man into its overall brand strategy. The company counts on opening a hundred new points of sale for the menswear line over the course of the year.
