Mark Zuckerberg for H&M?

On April 1 (the date might be a clue here), Swedish fast fashion giant H&M revealed the latest big name to collaborate with the retailer on a collection: Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.

On the collection's website, Markforhm.com, it says: "H&M is proud to announce a new long-term partnership with internet entrepreneur, philanthropist, CEO and Co-Founder of Facebook — Mark Zuckerberg. To celebrate the collaboration of Mark Zuckerberg and H&M, we launch a limited capsule collection of re-issued iconic pieces from H&M basics."

Indeed, the gender-neutral collection is as basic as it gets and should thrill anyone who, like Zuckerberg, doesn't like to pick out clothes in the morning. It consists of just seven grey T-shirts and one pair of blue jeans, and the pretty hilarious lookbook shows Zuckerberg wearing this exact outfit in everyday situations.

"I really want to clear my life so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community," Zuckerberg says. H&M states: "This new gender-neutral minimalistic range was inspired by Mark's beliefs that making even the easiest decisions (like what to wear or what to eat for breakfast) consumes mental energy and gets in the way of doing more important things. That’s why we named this collection “One less thing to think about in a morning”.

According to H&M, the collection will be available from May 1. And though it's almost certainly not a real collaboration, it's interesting to note that, if you add sweatshirts and jogging trousers, Mark for H&M isn't too dissimilar to Zara's recent "Ungendered" collection, which was criticized for not taking the concept far enough. Perhaps the tech bros are taking over not just the online world, but the online fashion world, too.
