Market research: GFK acquires pricing intelligence Cogenta provider
The market research agency GFK has extended its bailiwick to include e-commerce by acquiring Cogenta, a leader in online pricing intelligence.
Founded in 2006, Cogenta currently collects data on more than 8 million products sold through twenty countries. Based in Windsor in the UK, the company will take part in GFK’s new Online Pricing Intelligence solution.
“With the visibility and dynamics of prices in the online world ever-growing, transparency on pricing is key for our customers," said Gerhard Hausruckinger, a member of GFK’s management board. “Cogenta’s innovative services fit perfectly into our portfolio for retailers and manufacturers.”
GFK is present in about one hundred countries through some 13,000 market research experts. The German company describes its task as transforming “big data into smart data".
