Marquee Brands inks Dakine distribution deal with Global Brands
The new deal between the two companies will see GBG’s Boulder, Colorado-based sport and lifestyle division take charge of designing, developing and distributing Dakine’s apparel offering, which is focused on the action sports consumer.

We are excited to build on our foundation from the water to the mountains and the lifestyle in between.”
Founded in Hawaii in 1979, Dakine was acquired by Marquee Brands in December of last year and currently operates out of a headquarters in Hood River, Oregon. Through this latest distribution deal, the brand joins high-end ski apparel brand Spyder in GBG’s sport and lifestyle division.
Outside of this division, Hong Kong-based GBG owns, licenses and manages a wide range of brands, including fashion labels such as Juicy Couture, Karen Millen and Kenneth Cole.
Based in New York, Marquee Brands’ owned brand portfolio currently includes the likes of Ben Sherman and BCBG Max Azria. The company also acquired the Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse brands from Sequential Brands in April of this year.
GBG will begin distributing Dakine apparel in spring 2020.
