Mary Kay Inc. has announced it will be opening a new headquarters in Lima, Peru in an effort to expand its cosmetics business into the Peruvian market and harness new salespeople in the country.

The grand opening of the headquarters is slated for September. A large social media campaign will precede the opening announcing the brand's presence in the country.

The social media campaign will focus on explaining to women the benefits of becoming a Mary Kay consultant. It will also showcase product demonstrations to help introduce the brand's offerings to the country.

Peru is a natural South America market expansion for Mary Kay. In 2015, the brand entered Colombia. It brought an assortment of 150 pieces ranging across skincare, makeup and fragrance categories.

According to an official release, last year the World Bank "ranked Peru 50th (out of 189 countries) for ease of doing business." 2015 also marked $7.7 billion dollars in direct foreign investment in the country.

Mary Kay executives from the US, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico collaborated to help form the foundation for Mary Kay Peru. When Peru opens this fall, Mary Kay will have operations running globally in 37 countries.
