MCM links with Puma for basketball-inspired collab
Thursday will see the launch of a new collaboration between two major German names who’ve made an impact globally — MCM and Puma.
The luxury accessories specialist and the sports giant have teamed up for the latest drop in a three-drop series. They said “in true showboating style”, they’re celebrating “all the raucous glamour that basketball has to offer, featuring the Puma Slipstream Lo”.
The two companies actually worked together back in 2018 to release a special edition of Puma’s Suede.And with collaborations still a major way to drive interest and sales for everyone concerned, they said they’re being even more ambitious this time.
The new range is “seeking to capture the charisma and exhilaration of all thing’s basketball – and what’s more, basketball superstar-in-the-making Mikey Williams has been recruited as a triple-double for the global campaign”.
MCM’s Global Brand Officer Dirk Schönberger said: “The collaboration between MCM and Puma tells a great story of the heritage of both brands, but also how important culture is for MCM and the connection to all relevant topics for our consumer – from sport, music, to the influence of street-culture for luxury brands.”
As mentioned, the collab launches on Thursday (at exactly 3pm EST) on the MCM webstore with the shoes priced at £395.
