Michael Kors’ luxury arrives on Caribbean coast

Michael Kors continues to expand into the luxury market of Mexico with the opening of a new store in Playa del Carmen. The addition takes Michael Kors stores in Mexico to eight.

The new 430 sq ft unit is located within Calle Corazon’s shopping center, and carries the brand’s ready-to-wear collection as well as bags, watches, sunglasses, accessories and women’s footwear.

In Mexico, the American retailer is also present at El Palacio de Hierro luxury shopping center and in cities such as Mexico City, Puebla, Queretáro and Jalisco.

The company recorded net revenues of $193.1 million for the second quarter of 2015, representing a 6.7% fall from $207 million in the same period the prior year.
