Mizuno on the rise in Europe

For the first six months of its 2014 financial year ended 30 September, Mizuno has posted a revenue of 619 million euros (90 billion yen), up 1.9% compared to the same period last year. The Japanese kit supplier's net result amounts to 12 million euros, escalating by 31.4%.

Europe saw its sales rise 18.4% to 53 million euros. For the period, Mizuno moved its European marketing department for all of its sport (apart from golf) from the United Kingdom to Germany. The objective: to put promotional and sales operations in place adapted to each country. In addition, the company has opened a subsidiary in Norway while activities will start at the beginning of April 2015.

The Asia/Australia region recorded an 82% increase in its sales, to 63 million euros. The kit supplier explains that it will be developing a footwear and textile collection specifically for the Asian market.

On the contrary, the America region saw sales down by 4% at 100 million euros and Japan down 4.8% at 403 million euros.
