Luxury fashion e-retailer Moda Operandi has named Jim Gold as its new interim chief executive officer, according to multiple reports.

Gold takes over for Ganesh Srivats, who held the role of CEO at the company from August of 2018 to December of 2020, according to his LinkedIn page. Srivats left to pursue an as-of-yet undisclosed opportunity, which he has listed as "TBD" on LinkedIn.

Gold spent a large chunk of his career at department store company Neiman Marcus Group. First joining the company in 1991, he has held a number of roles with the company, including vice president, divisional merchandise manager, fine apparel; and senior vice president, general merchandise manager. In 2004, he began as president of Bergdorf Goodman. Then, in 2010, he transitioned to president and chief merchandising officer of Neiman Marcus Group, before leaving the company in 2019.

He currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Joor, a data analytics company and performance apparel brand Vuori. He serves as the vice chairman of the board for World of Children, a children's charity.

Moda Operandi was co-founded in 2010 by Lauren Santo Domingo and Aslaug Magnusdottir—the latter of whom served as the company's CEO until her departure in 2013.

In February of 2020, the company announced it had raised $100 million in new equity and debt financing, led by existing investors New Enterprise Associates, Inc. (NEA) and the Apax Digital Fund.

The company said the funds would be used to continue to invest in its core client experience, innovative shopping model, unique curation of fashion, fine jewelry, and home decor, as well as the data and technology systems that power the Moda platform. The round brought Moda Operandi's total equity capital raised up to $345 million.
