On the occasion of Paris Fashion Week (February 28 to March 7), Relaxnews caught up with Valentin Yudashkin, whose fall/winter 2017-18 collection previewed March 6 at 3:30pm. The designer outlined his latest creations and inspirations for the season.

How would you describe this FW 17-18 collection?
As elegant eclecticism which creates delicate, feminine, and sensual but strong images.

What are its main inspirations?
The various forms, the evolution and the multidimensional nature of menswear from the 20th century heavily influenced the new collection. The focus is on shapes and details of the male image which is transformed to fit into the womenswear collection by bringing masculinity together with female elegance to form expressive and sensual looks.

Who did you design this collection for? What facet of a woman's life?
The collection includes casual and evening looks. A woman can find in it knitted sweatshirts, hoodies with handmade woolen finishing, wide trousers and high-waist skirts, straight and suited jackets -- some of which are decorated with ornaments, braids and handmade avian compositions. There are also voluptuous long dresses made from silk tulle and tulle with spray paint, lace, organza and sequin fabric that are complemented by draping, bouffant waves and exquisite embroidery. This last has a special place within the new collection. Valentin Yudashkin turned to Byzantian art, using ancient ornaments and patterns, aged gold and bronze-colored stone, bead and spangle embroidery. Apart from that some of the pieces feature gold thread embroidery, woolen threads and metal braiding.

Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner. These 3 young women are as popular on the runway as they are on social networks. Is this a new generation of supermodels, one for the digital age?
First of all, the idols have changed. These models are the new generation. We can see how the tastes of the designers and of the youth vary. In these new realities Bella, Gigi and Kendall are the fresh stars not only on the runway but in social media also. The public likes them and follows them not only during the fashion shows but also by looking at their lives [online]. This is an aspect of the digital age in which we live.

From socially or politically conscious to fun to connected: how do you see fashion evolving in the coming years?
Fashion should be accessible, exciting and vivid!
