Hired last summer by the investment company Cressida to direct the Italian jewelry brand Buccellati, Thierry Andretta has now joined the board of Mulberry, the British company announced on Tuesday.

Once at Lanvin, Thierry Andretta is now adding yet another string to his bow

CEO of Lanvin from 2009 to 2013, Andretta will continue in his capacity as CEO of Italian jeweler. At Mulberry, he will be tasked with "building a global luxury brand" says Godrey Davis, non-executive chairman of the company, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Davis has taken over in the interim since the resignation of the Frenchman Bruno Guillon last March.

Part French and part Italian, Andretta has worked at Moschino, Fashion Box, Replay, Gucci, LVMH, Celine and Emanuel Ungaro. “I am confident that he will make a valuable contribution to the company,” said Godfrey Davis said in a statement.

Formerly president of the French trade union of men’s fashion, Andretta has also sat on the board of the Swedish brand Acne Studios since 2012.
