Musto unveils five-year global license agreement with Land Rover
British outdoor clothing expert Musto is set to launch an Autumn/Winter 2020 range with UK car brand Land Rover as part of a new five-year global license agreement.
Announced at Ispo Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for outdoor apparel and equipment, on Monday, the new deal extends the brands’ collaboration following the 24-piece Above and Beyond collection launched in September.
It coincides with the unveiling of an all New Land Rover Defender, the car-maker’s latest innovation.
Spanning clothing, footwear and luggage, the licensed range was designed by the two companies in close collaboration. It pays homage to Land Rover’s durability, and it celebrates Musto’s cutting-edge technology by introducing various innovations that can withstand harsh conditions.
A case in point is the Welded-Thermo Jacket, which features Recco integrated reflective antenna that helps rescue teams locate the wearer in difficult terrain. The jacket also features PrimaLoft Cross Core insulation technology and is fitted with PrimaLoft Aerogel-lined pockets to protect mobile phones, enabling them to maintain their battery power for longer.
Another key piece is the Land Rover Gore-Tex Parka, which has three-layer Gore-Tex fabric and provides unparalleled waterproof, windproof and breathable capabilities.
Commenting on the new five-year deal, Paul Stoneham, Musto executive chairman, said: “Combining Musto’s design and technology in performance clothing with that of Land Rover’s innovation promises to deliver a leading product range within the adventure sector, suitable for the modern-day explorer.”
Joe Sinclair, director of branded goods and licencing at Land Rover, added: “This extension of the partnership between Musto and Land Rover further strengthens the relationship between our two iconic British brands. The new deal will see us collaborate for a further five years to continue creating the most advanced, technical and capable performance apparel collection, complementing our already successful Above and Beyond collaboration.”
The new collection will be available to Musto’s wholesale partners and distributors, as well as in Musto stores and online from August 2020.
