MySize Inc is testing a garment measurement app

Mar 21, 2017

MySize Inc. has announced it is in the testing phases of a new app – the MySizeID. The MySize ID platform will act as a measurement app for online apparel shopping.

The app’s aim is to solve a common issue in the world of online apparel – helping customers buy the right sized garment without going into a physical retail store. The app aids customers in finding their correct body measurements so they can, in turn, order the correct-fitting garments online.

The app uses mathematical algorithms to recommend the most appropriate clothing based on the hip breadth of the app user.

"MySizeID is our next generation measurement application for on-line clothes shopping. With TrueSize, the right size clothing at a store is recommended based on the measurements of clothes from the customer's own closet,” said MySize CEO, Ronen Luzon.

“ MySizeID takes it one step further, by using an alternative benchmark.  It accurately measures a person's body, in spite of natural movement and other factors challenging to recording precise calculations. Simply put the smart phone on one side of your hip. Move it to the other hip and then back again. The application does the rest.”

The app is currently undergoing its first round of trial and testing.

There are a few tech companies rushing to put their measuring technology on the market. AG and JAG Jeans integrated FitCode’s company into their e-commerce site this month The Fitcode technology – The Fitcode 'Jenius' technology quizzes shoppers on the various aspects of their body type to help find them the best fitting denim.

An app called KidSize is looking to prevent incorrect fitting garments in the childrenswear sector. The app, launched last March, uses photos to calculate two fits based on the child's current size and age: one size that will provide the best fit right now, and one that will provide the best fit for the child grow into.
