Net-A-Porter taps ex-Barneys VP as Managing Director

Yoox Net-A-Porter Group has appointed Matthew Woolsey, former Executive Vice President of Digital at Barneys NY, as Managing Director of Net-A-Porter.

He will oversee the content, marketing and buying functions for the online luxury fashion destination, ensuring the company continues to deliver an exceptional customer experience around an inspiring and curated offering.

Based in the group’s headquarters in London, Woolsey will also help drive further growth in international markets. He will report to Alison Loehnis, President of Net-A-Porter and MR Porter, and join the Group Executive Team.

The brand’s strategic direction will continue to be led by Loehnis .

Prior to this appointment, the executive led the Digital division of Barneys New York, where he oversaw the tripling of the digital business in four years with an emphasis on mobile, personalization and editorial.

“Matthew's understanding of both an American and international luxury fashion customer will serve him well in his new role managing Net-A-Porter's global business. Alongside Toby Bateman at Mr Porter we have two exceptional talents driving our businesses forward to an exciting future," said Alison Loehnis, President of the brands.

Net-A-Porter said Woolsey’s arrival is a key milestone in Net-A-Porter’s growth strategy as it moves forward towards achieving its 5-year plan, unveiled in July 2016.
