New York City and Paris launch Business Exchange program for start-ups

The New York City Economic Development Corp. and Paris&Co, the economic development agency of Paris, on Wednesday announced the launch of the NYC-Paris Business Exchange.


NYC-Paris Business Exchange provides New York-based fashion, tech, art and design, tourism, food and beverage and sustainability start-ups with the opportunity to expand in Paris, and vice versa. The program helps young companies overcome challenges linked to expanding overseas by offering 6 months of free co-working space; events and business development support for up to 10 companies form each city. Airfare courtesy of Air France and financial and tax incentives are also made available for companies.
 
The Business Exchange is looking specifically for companies which: are looking to expand abroad; have a product or service that has proven its value in its home market and is suitable for its host market; have a 12-month business plan and vision for the company; have a well-defined expansion plans; and can complement the host city’s economic development objectives.

Applications are open for submission now through November 30, and winners will be announced on January 11. The program for the winning companies will begin in February and end in August with a closing event.
