Nike appoints new Converse CEO

From January 22, Converse will have a a new president and CEO, as parent company NIke has found a successor for Davide Grasso, who will step down from his role at the end of the year.

Scott Uzzell has been president of venturing and emerging brands at Coca-Cola since 2014, a role in which he helped the company develop a portfolio of brands that includes Honest Tea, ZICO Coconut Water and Suja Juice.

In his new role, he will report to Michael Spillane, Nike Inc.'s president of categories and products. 

Uzzell's career also includes stints at Procter & Gamble and Nabisco. He is also a member of the boards of State Bank and Trust Company; Fairlife, LLC; and Suja Juice Company.

"Scott’s unique blend of experience driving both strategic business growth and strong brand development is well-suited to help unlock the full potential of the Converse Brand and lead its next phase of growth globally," said Spillane in a release. 

In the last fiscal year, Converse saw a decline of 8% (11% in constant currencies) in its revenues, which fell to $1.886 billion.
