NudeStix expands to China

Start-up beauty brand NudeStix has already taken the North American beauty scene by storm. Now the company has announced it will be expanding to the Chinese market through an exclusive partnership with Sephora.

By the end of 2017, NudeStix will be available at 100 different locations in China, available on Sephora’s Chinese e-commerce site as well as on TMall and Weibo.

Nudestix was founded by two Toronto teenagers, Ally & Taylor Frankel, who wanted to condense their morning make-up routine. The brand’s conceit is to make a streamlined make-up line that can be applied anywhere and anytime. While the girls are very young, they did benefit from professional backing, thanks to their mother, a multi-award winning cosmetic engineer. Jenny  Frankel cut her teeth working with MAC Cosmetics, leaving MAC after to three years to launch cosmetics line Cover FX.

“NUDESTIX is not a product that any beauty executive with 20 years of experience would create because we don’t think like the new generation,” said Jenny Frankel, NudeStix president. “[Ally and Taylor] have been influenced by technology, have access to curated lifestyles and need their makeup to be easy, cool and effortless.”

The collection focuses on a 'no make-up' range of nudes to match any skin tone. The brand’s signature product is an eyeshadow stick that allows the user to apply eyeshadow with the ease of a marker. The product selection now includes lip, cheek, and eye pencils, blenders, concealer pencils, sculpting pencils, and eye colors. In North America, NudeStix is currently available through Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Sephora, and QVC.
